The controversy surrounding Thierry Henry’s handball offence that helped France book their place in next year’s World Cup finals still shows no sign of abating, and Fiorentina supporters have decided to do their part.

Italian boss Giovanni Trapattoni’s Ireland were cruelly denied a spot at South Africa 2010 after the Barcelona striker twice handled the ball in the build-up to William Gallas' goal during last week’s play-off tie in Paris.

Fiorentina fans have decided to show solidarity with the Irish people and their former boss when French outfit Olympique Lyonnais pay a visit to the Stadio Franchi on Tuesday night. Sky Sport 24 claims that the Curva Fiesole will display a banner reading "We are all Irish".

Fiorentina supporters still have fond memories of ‘Trap’, who was at the helm of the Tuscans from 1998-2000.

The Gigliati will progress to the last 16 stage of the Champions League if they defeat OL in the Group F clash.
