Bari Winger Antonio Langella Still Smarting From Roma Defeat
The midfielder has apologised to the numerous Galletti fans who travelled to the Eternal City...
Serie A revelations Bari stumbled to a 3-1 reverse at Roma on Sunday, and winger Antonio Langella is disappointed to have let down the Biancorossi supporters who turned out en masse at the Olimpico.
“I am very sorry for them, as we planned to do very well,” the ex-Chievo man told TuttoBari.com.
“If we analysed the entire match, we would see that we had the most clear-cut chances to score.
“Unfortunately, that’s not enough in football and you must also take them: if you don’t hit the back of the net, everything becomes more difficult.
“[Boss Giampiero] Ventura was obviously unhappy with the result after the encounter. After all, when you concede three goals in 30 minutes, particularly against the likes of Roma, it becomes very difficult to get back into it.”
Despite Francesco Totti’s hat-trick, Bari still boast the best defensive record in the league and should have enough to see off rock-bottom Siena at home next weekend.
“We must swiftly put this result behind us,” explained Langella.
“Siena visit the San Nicola on Sunday and that will be a key clash in our survival battle.”
