Milan Midfielder Gennaro Gattuso In Chelsea Link - Report
The Italian has often been sacrificed in Leonardo's new formation, leading to speculation that he will leave and join Chelsea to play regular football...
Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has been tipped to rejoin his former coach Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea.
Sportmediaset.it report the Italian international is not happy at being used as a substitute by Leonardo, and is looking to leave so he can play regular football.
Gattuso used to be one of Ancelotti's favourite stars when the current Blues boss sat on the San Siro bench. It is said the coach is now looking at the situation and that the midfielder would be welcome in west London. Leonardo's new formation has seen chances limited for 'Ringhio' and a number of injuries have not helped his cause.
In addition, Gattuso is hoping to feature at the World Cup with Italy, but a lack of football could compromise that. With that in mind, he is eager to play regularly. Manchester City have also reportedly been interested, but Chelsea would be first choice.
Neither Gattuso nor Milan have added their voice to the reports just yet, though vice-president Adriano Galliani did claim that Gattuso has not asked to leave the club in January.
