Sampdoria Star Antonio Cassano Suffers Fractured Finger
‘Fantantonio’ has an injury scare but should get the all-clear for the Derby della Lanterna...
“Following a fall during Sampdoria-Chievo, Cassano underwent medical tests that revealed a fracture of the second finger in his left hand,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
“However, the setback will absolutely not affect his availability for Saturday’s match.”
Samp defeated Chievo 2-1 at Marassi to move into fourth spot in the league table. Genoa sit four points behind after slipping to a late defeat at the hands of Livorno.
The Grifoni came out on top in both derby games last season. Giampiero Gasperini’s men edged out their arch-rivals 1-0 as the away side and triumphed 3-1 on home turf.
