Olympique Lyonnais Want To Beat Fiorentina To Top The Group - Claude Puel
Les Gones are not travelling to Florence just to see the sights and are determined to upset the locals...
The French side have already qualified after an impressive group stage campaign, but Puel insists that les Gones want to win the match to guarantee first place and, hypothetically, an easier tie in the next round.
"We've come to Florence to finish first in our group," he told Il Corriere dello Sport.
"To finish second could create difficulties for ourselves, because in the knockout round we would encounter the stronger teams.
"We must play with the same approach that we would have if we hadn't already qualified, because it's very important for us to win the group. It will be hard, we know Fiorentina well and we know that they are very good as a team.
"Last year we played one of our best games here and we will go onto the pitch tomorrow with the same vigour, trying not to make mistakes and trying to score as soon as possible."
