Giuseppe Bergomi: Sacked Palermo Boss Walter Zenga Will Land On His Feet
Zenga will not be without a job for long, according to Bergomi...
Former Inter and Italy defender Giuseppe Bergomi has commented on the sacking of his former team-mate Walter Zenga. After Palermo collected 17 points from 13 matches, president Maurizio Zamparini opted to replace 'Spiderman' with ex-Lazio coach Delio Rossi.
"I'm sorry because Walter is a great professional and has always done well," he told Mediagol.
"Even at Palermo he was not doing badly, but unfortunately this is football. There are those who like to change things immediately when results are not coming and the first to pay is always the coach."
Earlier this season, current Inter boss Jose Mourinho had stated that Zenga was a possible successor to him on the bench at the Giuseppe Meazza and Bergomi agrees.
"I hope one day he does coach Inter. Being sacked does not affect the entire career of a coach, they always know it is calculated risk," he concluded.
