Giorgio Chiellini insisted it was a job well done for Juventus last night as a Fabio Grosso goal proved enough to see off Udinese and move to within five points off top spot in Serie A.

“We did well in attacking, without allowing them to hit on the counter,” the central defender told Sky Sport Italia.

“They had a single shot on goal throughout the match. All in all, it was a comfortable game.

“We knew that the goal would have come sooner or later, given the strikers we have up front. Amauri could have given us the lead in the first half, but we nonetheless managed to score through Grosso in the second period.

“When you only have a one-goal advantage, it is always dangerous, but we did well in hanging on for a win in the final chaotic minutes.”

Juventus visit Bordeaux on Wednesday night for a crunch Champions League Group A clash.

“We will go to Bordeaux to get a win,” claimed Chiellini, confidently.

“A draw would not be enough. Bayern Munich will presumably defeat Maccabi Haifa, so we will have to collect all three points as it’s very important to finish top of the qualifying group.”
