Juventus

Buffon- 6: The Italian had little to do for long spells of the game but made some decent blocks when called into service.

Caceres- 6.5: The Uruguayan rushed his service in the opening period, but came up with the good after the break with a great cut across the box for Grosso’s opener.

Cannavaro-6.5: Had little to deal for long spells but kept the visitors at bay with some astute movement alongside Chiellini.

Chiellini- 8: The stocky defender continued his fine moment following his impressive displays with La Nazionale last week. Made some heavy challenges on the Udinese forwards but always seemed to have the timing on Floro Flores.

Grosso- 7.5:
The wing-back covered a huge deal of ground tonight. He did superbly to find himself in the box to smash home from close range after having started the move four passes earlier.

Camoranesi- 7: The World Cup winner made a constant nuisance of himself with some intelligent running and crossing from deep.

Felipe Melo- 5: The Brazilian gave far too many balls away in the opening period and as a consequence the Bianconeri were unable to carve out enough openings. Not his best display in the middle of the park this season.

Poulsen- 7: The Dane picked out Caceres with a wonderful ball over the top which lead to the goal.

Diego- 5.5: The Brazilian had a decent first half but the Juventus faithful will be expecting much more from him over the coming weeks as the Bianconeri look to bridge the gap with leaders Inter.

Amauri- 7:
As the debate continues to run on about his possible inclusion in the Azzurri setup, the hitman put in a generous performance as he threw his body at numerous half chances. The Brazilian was unlucky not to be on the score sheet for all his trying.

Giovinco- 6.5: The Atomic Ant had a great effort blocked at the near post in the opening period but then failed to really threaten the visitors in front of goal. Following the return of Del Piero, he may find himself back on the bench in the coming weeks.

Substitutes

Sissoko- 8: Looked solid in the middle following his second half entry and gave the Old Lady the added cover needed to seal the victory with the minimum of fuss.

Del Piero- 6.5: Pinturicchio will have been delighted to have got back into action as the Old Lady nears an important phase in the run up to the winter break.

De Ceglie- N/A: Thrown on late on to give added cover in the dying minutes.

Udinese

Handanovic- 7: Pulled off some spectacular stops in the opening period to keep the sides level at the break. The Slovenian had little chance on the goal given the vicinity of Grosso when the shot came in.

Basta- 6: Attentive when dealing with one-on-ones. The defender took no chances and he and worked his socks off at the back for over an hour.

Zapata- 4: At fault for the goal and was often beaten in the box by a threatening Amauri.

Coda- 5: Often left chasing the shadows of the Juventus forward men, and had to resort to doubling up to keep them outside the box.

Lukovic- 6.5:
Made some important interventions in the opening period, but became increasingly exposed after the re-start

Inler- 6:
Gave a good account of himself in the middle of the park but couldn’t provide enough service for the isolated Floro Flores.

D’Agostino- 6.5: The Italian midfielder showed some moments of magic but they weren’t enough to cause Chiellini and co. any real food for thought in the Bianconeri backline.

Asamoah 5: Worked hard to keep up with the muscle in midfield, but couldn’t stop Udinese from falling to their fifth defeat in seven games.

Lodi- 4.5: The Neapolitan failed to make an impact and was duly substituted on the hour mark.

Floro Flores- 6:
Tried to cause a nuisance of himself up top but really had little chance given the lack of service to feet from his fellow Zebrette.

Isla- 5.5: The Chilean tried his best to fill in for the absent Di Natale, but was given little chance following the lack of service up top.

Substitutes

Romero- 5.5:
Couldn’t cause problems in front of goal due to the impeccable cover from the Juventus midfield.

Sammarco- N/A: Didn’t make the impact his coach was looking for in the closing stages.

Corradi- N/A: Thrown on at the death but given little chance with no service from the midfield.
