A Great Second Half Display Wasn’t Enough – Napoli Coach Walter Mazzarri
The Azzurri coach was positive following his side’s goalless draw with struggling Lazio...
After watching his Napoli outfit huff and puff without blowing the house down, coach Walter Mazzarri refused to be downbeat as his team settled for a point against an insistent Lazio side.
“In the second half we produced some great stuff against top opposition,” Mazzarri declared to SkySport shortly after the game.
“We had numerous opportunities to score but the ball just didn’t want to go in; that’s football.”
The Partenopei remain unbeaten since his arrival at the helm six rounds ago and Mazzarri looked to draw on the positives of what proved to be a well fought point.
“Given the condition of [Juan] Zuniga before the game I was extremely pleased with his response on the field. He still needs to get back to peak condition but he did his duty this afternoon.
“I am very happy with the current momentum of [Ezequiel] Lavezzi who was going at 100kph at times. Sometimes he could reflect a second before shooting but his contribution to the side is fundamental.”
