Leonardo: Break Was Important For Milan
The Rossoneri prepare to host Cagliari this afternoon in the 13th matchday of Serie A.
From his point of view, this was good, even though he admitted that some of the players would have rather joined their national teams ahead of next year’s World Cup.
“Speaking egoistically, being able to have the players here is not a negative thing,” commented the Brazilian coach to Milan Channel.
“Even in the past the break was useful to recover some injuries and to have some good training sessions. It’s a positive thing, but we are still close to a World Cup and for a player to go to the national team is important.
“Thiago Silva has just been there and I think that he was satisfied of what he did and I believe that in the future there can also be the opportunity for Ronaldinho and Pato.”
Milan are currently in fourth place with 22 points from 12 games played as they try to take back the third place in the standings from Parma following the latter’s 3-2 win against Fiorentina on Saturday night.
