Catania Have Reached A Crossroads – Gianluca Atzori
The Elefanti tactician is hoping to jump start his side’s season during tomorrow’s derby...
Despite having picked up a meagre eight points in the opening 12 rounds of the season, Catania coach Gianluca Atzori is full of faith as his side prepare to do battle with fellow Sicilians Palermo on Sunday afternoon.
“We have been preparing for the game meticulously,” he declared to Datasport.
“I’m not focusing on the fact that it is a derby - more so that this could be the game where we finally kick start our campaign.
“It should be a close encounter, and we will look to play our own game without putting up a barricade.”
With comparisons being made between himself and Catania’s former coach Walter Zenga, Atzori then dismissed the link with the current Palermo tactician.
“I don’t feel any comparisons to him [Zenga], plus I have an added advantage. I know him very well, whilst he doesn’t know me very well as a coach.”
