Napoli Coach Walter Mazzarri Not Looking For Revenge Against Lazio
The Partenopei coach insists that all his players will have a chance to prove their worth to the team...
Walter Mazzarri was in charge of Sampdoria when they were beaten by Lazio in last year's Coppa Italia final, but the Napoli coach insists that he doesn't hold any grudges against the Biancocelesti ahead of tomorrow's match.
"Lazio are a very strong squad despite their current situation, they have a good team and some excellent individuals," he told Radio Marte.
"I don't have any feelings of revenge against the Biancocelesti. At that time I managed Sampdoria and I don't deny that the defeat hurt me a lot because losing on penalties leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
"But now I am only thinking about Napoli and my players."
Mazzarri continued by saying that he was aware that some of his players were unhappy at not featuring on a regular basis for the Vesuviani, but insisted that everyone would get their opportunity.
"I want to involve everyone, for me everyone is equal and this attitude serves to make us play better. We must understand what sort of squad we are and what identity we have.
"Modern football doesn't allow for tension and errors - today you can even lose to the bottom team in the league."
