Former Italy striker Salvatore 'Toto' Schillaci believes it will only be a matter of time before Napoli forward Fabio Quagliarella explodes into form.

The summer signing from Udinese has struggled to settle at the San Paolo. He has not had the best of starts and he was recently dropped from the Italy squad. Coach Walter Mazzarri has also shown a preference for other strikers of late.

Schillaci is confident the hitman will soon blossom at the club.

"Quagliarella is a great player and he will show all of his value," Schillaci told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"At the moment there have been others at the club who have shown something more in comparison to him.

"In any case, Napoli have new-found enthusiasm and they are destined to do well."

The Azzurri clash with Lazio at the San Paolo on Sunday afternoon.
