Siena Match Is Important For Atalanta - Antonio Conte

Conte knows the importance of the weekend's clash for the Orobici, who need three points to accelerate away from the drop zone...

Antonio Conte (Grazia Neri)
Atalanta coach Antonio Conte believes that the match against Siena is crucial for his team, who are coming off three straight defeats in Serie A.

The Bianconeri might not be in the best form either, but Conte believes that they are much better than they are actually showing.

"It's an important game in which we want to resume our march in the standings," the former Juventus player told sportmediaset.it.

"They have a superior squad to what their current league position shows. Soon we will face teams of such a level like Fiorentina and Inter, but I want to think about one game at a time."

Recent transfer rumours have linked Atalanta to Sevilla striker Javier Chevanton and Lecce attacker Cedric Konan, but Conte did not want to react to the speculation.

"I cannot comment [on] something that does not exist," he remarked. "If the deals go through I will talk, but now is too soon."

Atalanta are currently in 17th place with nine points from 12 games played, just three points above bottom side Siena.
