Great Memories With Chievo - Sampdoria's Luigi Delneri
Delneri has reminisced about the special time he spent with the Flying Donkeys, indicating that there is still a place in his heart for them...
"It will not be a normal game, not only for me, but also for my team, who want to change their path following the less favourable results of the last period," the former Atalanta coach told sportmediaset.it, considering their three game winless run.
"Personally I'm tied by a great affection towards Chievo Verona, the club who allowed me to debut in Serie A as a coach, although from that period - apart from president Campedelli and sporting director Sartori - almost no one is left.
"However the years spent in Verona will remain an unforgettable period in my memory and in that of the players who wore that Gialloblu shirt during that time."
Sampdoria are currently tied in fourth place with Fiorentina. They have obtained 21 points in 12 league games.
