I Would Rather Win Trophies With Fiorentina Than Make Italy's World Cup Squad - Alessandro Gamberini
Gamberini wants to lift some silverware with the Viola...
Fiorentina defender Alessandro Gamberini would rather win something with his club than feature at the World Cup with Italy.
"I want to win with the Viola, because the time is right," he said to Radio Toscana. "We've been doing well for years, achieving many satisfactions. Now we need the cherry on the cake. I'd prefer to win with the Viola than go to the World Cup."
Tomorrow Fiorentina welcome Francesco Guidolin's Parma to the Artemio Franchi stadium. Gamberini talked about the impact the current Parma coach has had on his career.
"I owe a lot to Guidolin, he gave me my Serie A debut and taught me a lot on tactics," he continued. "He's a very good coach, tactically he has very interesting ideas. I remember he easily changed the team's tactical set-up."
Currently Fiorentina are in fourth place with 21 points, while Parma are just one point behind.
