Sporting CP Midfielder Miguel Veloso Will Not Join Genoa - Report

The Grifoni were unable to lure the ball-winner to the Marassi...

Sporting's Miguel Veloso is wanted by many European clubs.
According to tuttomercatoweb, Sporting CP midfielder Miguel Veloso is not on his way to Genoa during the January transfer window.

Earlier in the month, the Italian club's president Enrico Preziosi had announced he was optimistic regarding a deal to bring the Portuguese international to the Marassi, but it seems an agreement could not be found.

In fact, the player's representatives have claimed Veloso is now unlikely to leave the club at all and will continue his career with Sporting for the foreseeable future.

The 23-year-old was reportedly a target for Arsenal this past summer. He is likely to feature in the World Cup this summer after Portugal qualified by defeating Bosnia-Herzegovina over a two-legged play-off.
