Fiorentina Coach Cesare Prandelli: Parma Match Will Not Be Easy With So Many Injuries
The Italian coach has told his players to be prepared and look sharp for their date with Parma...
Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has warned his side of the threat they face when they clash with Parma on Saturday.
The Viola are ahead of the Ducali by one point in the standings. Prandelli has plenty of injuries to deal with. Influential duo Adrian Mutu and Stevan Jovetic are both ruled out of action. Italy international Riccardo Montolivo is also suspended. Nevertheless, Prandelli is keeping the faith.
"Our objective is to win the game and we know that we are playing against a side who are in good form," Prandelli told the press.
"We hope to continue our positive run so we can prepare our game against Lyon in the Champions League better."
Prandelli has also joined the chorus of calls for video technology to be introduced in football following the controversy that marred Ireland's World Cup play-off against France.
"Everyone knows that what happens on the pitch can be seen in real time. Therefore we hope that this incident makes the mechanism [video technology] introduced," added the coach.
"You work hard, make a thousand sacrifices and then an episode like this, which has nothing to do with football, conditions your career and future. I hope that we can soon see talks regarding these initiatives."
