Juventus are planning a move for Real Madrid midfielder Royston Drenthe during the January transfer window.

According to Tuttosport, the Old Lady are looking to take advantage of a sale that will take place in Madrid. It is said Florentino Perez, president of los Blancos, is eager to trim down his squad, meaning that players who have been peripheral to his plans will be released.

After providing his club unprecedented amounts of money to purchase players in the summer, the Spaniard is keen to recover as much as he can.

Drenthe was linked with the Bianconeri this summer. Fiorentina and Milan were also said to have been keen. However, he opted to stay at the Bernabeu.

His price has fallen, with voices claiming a €6 million offer could see him move to Serie A.

Neither club have added any substance to the report.
