Livorno’s Antonio Candreva Downplays Inter, Juventus & Napoli Talk
The Italy international has insisted he is unconcerned by transfer rumours, keeping his feet on the ground as he refocusses on club duties…
Livorno star Antonio Candreva is desperately trying to keep a low profile, despite press reports suggesting that the midfielder has landed on the radar of a number of Serie A clubs.
The 22-year-old’s fine displays for the newly-promoted Labronici have earned him a first senior Italy cap this month, and the likes of Inter, Juventus and Napoli are reportedly prepared to do battle to secure the services of the Udinese-owned man.
“Of course, a player can’t help but feel flattered, but I don’t know anything about it,” Candreva explained to Tuttomercatoweb.
“I am reading about it in the press, but I must only focus on Livorno.”
Candreva played a starring role for Italy in their friendly internationals against the Netherlands and Sweden. Pundits in the peninsula are convinced coach Marcello Lippi will name him in his 23-man party for next year’s World Cup finals.
“I enjoyed these two games and I will now turn my attention to Livorno and our next difficult clash,” he mused
“I will cherish the advice that Lippi and my team-mates gave me and we’ll see what the future holds.”
