Italy coach Marcello Lippi was on the receiving end of some more whistles from the Azzurri faithful during La Nazionale's friendlies against the Netherlands and Sweden, which was primarily due to the continuing absence of Antonio Cassano.

Lippi has admitted that he was hurt by the jeers, and Fabio Cannavaro has sided with the national coach as he believes the whistles are disrespectful towards those who are in the squad.

"Antonio is a great guy and a strong player, but Lippi's decisions must be respected and, most of all, the players that he calls up must be respected because always calling for Antonio shows a lack of respect for the players who have been selected," Cannavaro explained to Juventus Channel.

The Juventus defender also believes that neither Alessandro Nesta nor Francesco Totti will be on the plane to South Africa next summer.

"Totti? It's nothing to do with the fact that he's not played in the qualifiers. I think that Francesco and Nesta have made a difficult decision, but I don't think they will come back."
