Roma Ace Jeremy Menez Hails Francesco Totti’s Comeback
The Frenchman is confident the captain’s return will help the Giallorossi shoot up the table.
Roma striker Jeremy Menez has downplayed the team’s indifferent start to the Serie A season and insisted the Lupi will turn around their fortunes once and for all this weekend when captain Francesco Totti makes his comeback from knee surgery.
“Roma have more belief in their qualities when Totti plays,” Menez told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.
“He will be back on Sunday and will score a goal so that we get a win and we can all relax.”
But Roma currently sit in 13th place and are six points adrift of a Champions League spot after holding leaders Inter to a 1-1 draw before the international break.
“Gaps are irrelevant as there are so many teams crammed in the space of four points,” mused the former Monaco man.
“If we get a win against Bari, we can aim high.
“We played our game with Inter. I would like to take on the Nerazzurri again in two months. If we are in form we can beat any opponents.”
