Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale felt honoured to be selected to wear the Italian national team armband for the Azzurri's clash with Sweden.

La Nazionale claimed the victory thanks to a Giorgio Chiellini goal, and Di Natale was full of praise for his team-mates.

"I felt proud that the coach [Marcello Lippi] gave me the armband," the striker said to Rai.

"It was a night to remember, and the team played well."

The -year-old also is of the impression that the competition for a starting position up front for the Azzurri is healthy, and he will continue to work hard for his place in South Africa.

"Lippi has always given me the possibility to play, and I have to continue to work hard and do my best, like I have always done.

"I hope to continue like this, and arrive in the final squad of 23," Di Natale summed up.
