I Haven't Spoken To Anyone About Italy Job - Fiorentina Coach Cesare Prandelli
The Viola tactician has been touted as Marcello Lippi's successor on the Azzurri bench...
Fiorentina trainer Cesare Prandelli has downplayed speculation that he could take over from Marcello Lippi as Italy coach next summer.
Prandelli insists that he hasn't heard from anyone at the Italian FA (FIGC).
"The national team? I've not spoken with anyone and I don't intend to speak about it," he explained to Sportmediaset.
"At the present moment, there is a coach who has shown to be the best and I hope that he continues his work."
It has recently been suggested that Fiorentina are looking to ward off any interest from the FIGC by tying Prandelli down to a new contract.
The 52-year-old's current deal expires in 2011 and the Viola could attempt to extend that date in order to prevent their trainer from leaving cheaply, if at all.
