Roma Star Francesco Totti Slams Detractors And Paolo Di Canio
‘Er Pupone’ has again hit out at his critics and slammed Lazio legend Di Canio over his comments about his potential Italy return...
Totti’s current contract will run out next summer and the 33-year-old is expected to put pen to paper on a new five-year deal before Christmas.
“I was told of some chit-chat that is going on in uptown Rome about the opportunity to hand me a certain type of contract,” writes Totti.
“The names of these individuals were not mentioned, but I can imagine it’s the same people who then come to me asking for photos or gadgets and autographed shirts before going on to talk bad about me.
“I think I have showed on the pitch over the years what I represent as a player…”
Former Lazio star Paolo Di Canio has blasted what he sees as the ridiculous possibility of Totti coming out of international retirement to make the Italy squad for next year’s World Cup finals. Again, Totti is not happy about this.
“Another thing that bothered me was to hear former players like Di Canio, who has never received a senior cap, passing judgement on my potential call-up and my health,” snarled the Roma icon.
“I think his words were out of place for several reasons and I say this with the utmost respect.”
