Parma Veteran Christian Panucci Still Bitter Over Roma Exit
The defender is unhappy over broken promises from the Giallorossi management...
Christian Panucci's contract with Roma expired last summer, allowing him to sign on a free transfer for Parma, but the veteran defender was not happy when he was asked whether he thought the Giallorossi regretted his departure.
"This question should not be made to me, but to [president Rosella] Sensi and [former coach Luciano] Spalletti," he stated to Il Corriere dello Sport.
"I was at Roma for eight years and I still live there. I'm happy to be at Parma but it wasn't me that decided to leave the capital. It wasn't me that promised a contract to Panucci and then didn't keep his word."
However, the 36-year-old holds no grudges against the Giallorossi faithful, whom he still holds in high regard due to the support they gave him during his stint in the Eternal City.
"I thank the fans with whom I have a fantastic relationship and who made me feel important for eight years, but this question must be asked to someone else."
