Livorno coach Serse Cosmi admits that he was pleased not to see his injury-list grow when the Amaranti took on Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana during a friendly on the weekend.
Despite there being no official matches this week in the league, many teams opted to play friendly club games, and Cosmi was relieved that his men got through unscaved.
"Against Olimpija, it was a good workout for us," Cosmi told TMW after the match.
"The most important thing is that we did not lose anyone to injuries, as we are already down enough men as it is.
"The team demonstrated to play well, and keep the rhythm high during the match, but they could not be as high as normal, as the side had gone through two hard training sessions this week.
"Now, we are thinking about our next match [against Genoa], where we may see some players return, in particular, [defender Mirko] Pieri," Cosmi summed up.
Francesco Tavano, Romano Perticone, Rivas, Antonio Filippini and the before-mentioned Pieri are all missing from the team with injury concerns.
