Palermo In Discussions For Fluminense's Maicon Bitencourt - Agent

It is no secret that Fluminense's forward Maicon Bitencourt is a prime target for Palermo and Cagliari over the January transfer window, but the player's agent has no confirmed that the Rosaneri are officially in talks for the 20-year-old.

Maicon's agent Erayabakan Aytekin has confirmed to TMW that his client's team, and a side from Sicily are involved in negotiations for the player.

"Palermo are effectively interested in Maicon," Aytekin admitted, "The player himself would be open to the destination.

"The current offer on the table is 4 million, but I personally have not spoken to [Palermo president Maurizio] Zamparini or any other director from the Italian club.

"But I know for sure that Palermo and Fluminense are in contact with one another, and have undertaken the start of a transfer negotiation.

"Should the parties find an agreement for the player's transfer, a move could be made as early as January," Aytekin concluded.
