Dutch international midfielder and new Inter star Wesley Sneijder did not take to the pitch in the friendly against Italy on Saturday evening after he suffered a muscular problem during Friday's training session. Once again it was a problem to his right thigh, as it happened during the recent Inter-Catania match.
Compared to before, however, the diagnosis was not as serious. According to Goal.com Italia, there was no strain, just a tiring of the muscle, which he will need around seven days to recuperate from.
As such, Inter have requested that the former Real Madrid man return to Milan so that they can further assess his contion, but it was revealed that the Dutch national team will leave for Amsterdam and Sneijder has been forced to join along.
In September, the playmaker got injured with the national side during a friendly against Japan, but just three days later coach Bert Van Marwijk played him in a World Cup qualifier against Scotland, even though he wasn't fully fit. Since then, he has been suffering from a series of problems which hasn't been able to overcome completely yet.
Inter have a crucial Champions League match against Barcelona coming up on November 24 and there's a risk that the Nerazzurri could be without the Oranje midfielder.
