Italy boss Marcello Lippi has allowed Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo and Gianluca Zambrotta to return to their respective clubs following last night’s goalless draw with Holland, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

Therefore, the quartet will be unavailable for Wednesday’s friendly test with Sweden in Cesena.

Lippi is expected to heavily rotate the squad for the clash with the Scandinavian side and the Azzurri will resume training in Cervia at 16:00 CET today.

Lippi will speak to the press soon after the end of the training session.

Italy-Sweden will kick off at 20:50 CET on Wednesday night at the Stadio Manuzzi in Cesena where the Nazionale have only played twice in the past, defeating Bulgaria in 1989 and thrashing San Marino 4-0  in 1992.
