Marko Arnautovic Delighted To Open Inter Account
The Austrian was a relieved man after bagging a brace in a 2-1 win over Vaduz.
Inter striker Marko Arnautovic is pleased to have finally showed the Nerazzurri supporters his true colours, as he hit his first two goals for the Italian champions in a 2-1 defeat of Liechtenstein side Vaduz yesterday.
“I am happy,” he admitted to Sportmediaset after the encounter.
“It went so much better compared to the two previous games during which I had not played well.
“I have worked hard since last summer and today I have reaped the fruits of my work.
“But if things went smoother, the whole team deserves credit. I am delighted. It was a friendly match, but it was nonetheless tough and we were very determined.”
Arnautovic joined Inter from Dutch side Twente last summer after a lengthy transfer saga due to the 20-year-old’s injury problems following a stress fracture to his foot.
The Austrian international is on loan at the San Siro and there were reports coach Jose Mourinho had warned against making the move permanent after a string of sub-par displays in friendly tests. Arnautovic has yet to make an official appearance for the Beneamata.
