Walter Mazzarri: I Want Napoli To Play Like Barcelona
Mazzarri believes that Napoli can win the Scudetto by playing a swashbuckling brand of football. He thinks that this can be achieved in the near future...
Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has announced plans to turn his side into Serie A's Barcelona and win the Scudetto in two years.
The coach has restored enthusiasm at the San Paolo since taking over from Roberto Donadoni. He has forged a bond with the team and, after racking up some impressive results, the coach has made major promises.
"One day I hope to play [Marek] Hamsik, [Ezequiel] Lavezzi, [German] Denis and [Fabio] Quagliarella together," Mazzarri told Il Corriere Dello Sport.
"However, we would have to maintain possession for 80 per cent of the game. Like Barcelona, for example, but it will take some time to get there."
Mazzarri has even targeted potential league success in the not-too-distant future.
"There is plenty of potential and I think we can challenge for the Scudetto in two or three years. However, the whole structure of the club needs to take a step forward for us to get there," added Mazzarri.
