Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta has struck back at Inter defender Marco Materazzi, who claimed the Bianconeri are a team "who give up".
On Thursday the Nerazzurri veteran claimed Juve are a technically stronger side than his, but their weakness is that they choke at key moments.
"Juventus are stronger than Inter, but we never give up," Materazzi told the press.
Iaquinta has now responded. He has thrown the gauntlet down to Inter for when the two teams meet in the Derby d'Italia.
"Marco is a friend, but I don't understand what he is trying to say," the Italian told Tuttosport.
"We are a great team and so are they. They have a five point advantage. We will be playing them in around 20 days, then we will see who is stronger."
The first Derby d'Italia of term takes place in Turin on December 5.
