While Roma attempted to withhold him from the Brazil squad, Doni has announced that he is ready to play for Dunga's side against England on Saturday.

"[I am] perfectly capable of playing," Doni told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"I suffered a blow to the thigh but I was able to train. Roma didn't want me to play in order to protect me, but I'm fine and I can safely play."

However, the 'keeper was unwilling to comment on the state of Juan, his Giallorossi team-mate.

The 30-year-old maintained that he would prefer to talk about his own situation and not become embroiled in the club versus country controversy surrounding the defender.

Juan has also been suffering from an injury and has been at the centre of a row between Brazil and Roma, with the club demanding that he return from the Selecao's training camp in Doha.
