Agent Confirms Fiorentina’s Interest In Atalanta Midfielder Tiberio Guarente
Guarente’s representative has admitted the Gigliati enquired after his client last summer. Though he doesn't think that a move is possible in January, it seems likely that the 23-year-old will make a switch in the summer...
Press reports in Italy claim that Serie A side Fiorentina are edging closer to securing the services of all-action midfield dynamo Tiberio Guarente, who plays for Atalanta, but the player’s representative is still cautious.
“I know nothing about it,” agent Giovanni Bia told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I can just say that there was contact [with Fiorentina] over the summer, but nothing more.
“Guarente is having a good season and it’s normal that he is being tracked by many important teams.
“And Italian clubs are not the only interested parties. I reckon that Atalanta will not offload him in January.
“I think that it will be difficult to hold him back next June, particularly because we all know Atalanta’s policy.”
The Bergamaschi boast one of the best youth academies in the peninsula and are accustomed to cashing in on their rising stars to stay afloat in Serie A.
Atalanta reportedly value Guarente in the region of €10 million.
