Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik is overjoyed by the fact that he will become a father in January, as his girlfriend is expecting their first child.

However, Hamsik made it clear that despite this life-changing experience, he will still act as a professional player and give his best for the Azzurri's cause.

"In mid-January my first child will be born," declared the Partenopei's player to tuttonapoli.net.

"I can't wait for this moment.

"My career will not change, I will continue to remain fully concentrated on football, but without neglecting my family and my girlfriend."

The 22-year-old joined Napoli back in 2007 from Brescia and since then he has played a total of 81 league games, scoring 25 goals in the process, some return for a midfielder.

Napoli have also been climbing up the standings following coach Walter Mazzarri's arrival and currently sit in ninth place, just three points away from a Champions League spot.

For Hamsik, life cannot really get any better.
