Lazio Have Contacted Me Over Succeeding Davide Ballardini - Edy Reja
The Hajduk Split coach would consider moving back to Serie A if the job became available...
A number of coaches have already been fired in Italy's top flight this
season, and it appears that Lazio's Davide Ballardini is next in line for the sack
after Hajduk Split coach Edy Reja revealed he has been contacted by the
club.
By the time the Aquile line up against Napoli in their next league fixture on November 22, they will have gone nearly three months without a league victory.
Since beating Chievo on August 30, Biancocelesti coach Davide Ballardini has been unable to find the winning formula in Serie A and now finds his job under serious threat.
"A few days ago I was contacted by some people close to the Biancocelesti to test the waters," Reja, a former Partenopei coach, told Lalaziosiamonoi.it.
"They wanted to know if I was available to coach Lazio, where the situation is getting worse for Ballardini. But I explained to them that I am currently with Hajduk and that they would have to free me by paying compensation to take me to Rome.
"I repeat, I'm coaching here in Split. I feel good, but we are certainly talking about a different championship with different technical values.
"Lazio? If I was to be convinced to make a switch in the future, I don't believe that the compensation due to Hajduk would be a problem."
