Italy Debutant Antonio Candreva Not Thinking About Potential Roma Move Or World Cup

The player is not getting his hopes up regarding a move to the Stadio Olimpico or being on the plane to South Africa...

Antonio Candreva - Livorno (Grazia Neri)
Italy coach Marcello Lippi called up two new faces to the national team for the upcoming friendlies against the Netherlands and Sweden, one of them being Livorno midfielder Antonio Candreva.

The player has been one of the few bright spots in the Amaranto's start to 2009-10 and as a result he has been linked with a move to Roma. However, the 22-year-old insists that he is not thinking about a transfer or the possibility of participating in the World Cup in South Africa.

"Many clubs are interested in me, including Roma? It is nice, I can't hide that, but for now I think about doing well for my team," he explained, according to Calciomercato.

"I don't think about South Africa [either], only the salvation of Livorno."

The former Italy Under-21 international, who had 14 caps at that level, is currently on-loan at Livorno and is owned by Udinese.
