Domenico Criscito: Genoa Have Learned Their Lesson
The 22-year-old has praised the Grifoni for their recent play. He believes that the club's slump in form earlier this season may actually help them in the long run...
Criscito has thanked the Grifoni for helping him earn his place in the Azzurri squad for the friendlies against the Netherlands and Sweden.
"It is a very positive thing for our club, and for us personally. We help Genoa and Genoa helps us," he said to La Gazzetta dello Sport, speaking for Salvatore Bocchetti and Raffaele Palladino.
"We have quality players who are exalted through team-work."
The Grifoni went on a string of losses against Inter, Lille and Cagliari, but they have seemingly turned things around - earning three wins and a draw in their last four matches.
"After the heavy losses to Inter and Lille we woke up, otherwise there would be a crisis," explained the left-back. "We now hope we can benefit from this.
"[Coach Gian Piero] Gasperini? He is very good at rotating, and this is crucial since we are committed to participating in the Europa League."
