Udinese Prodigy Alexis Sanchez Set To Undergo Surgery - Report
The Zebrette are looking to resolve the Chilean's injury problem as soon as possible...
Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez has been out of action since picking up a hernia injury against Chievo Verona, and the decision has now been taken to operate on the problem as soon as possible.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the youngster will undergo an operation on an inguinal hernia tomorrow by Professor Pasquale Intini in Udine.
The club are eager for Sanchez to return to full fitness as soon as possible, and fear that delaying an operation would only serve to exacerbate the complaint.
The recovery time is believed to be around 15 days, which will rule him out of Chile's upcoming friendlies. Marcelo Bielsa's side face Germany in Cologne on November 14 before travelling to Zilina to play Slovakia on November 17.
It is another blow for Udinese coach Pasquale Marino, whose side has been decimated by injuries in the early stages of this season. The Zebrette currently sit down in 14th place in Serie A, although they are only five points off the Europa League spots.
