Despite Roma holding Serie A leaders Inter to a 1-1 draw last night, former Milan boss Arrigo Sacchi is under no illusion that the Scudetto race has been thrown wide open again.

Fellow Scudetto hopefuls Juventus and Milan have now moved to within five points and seven points respectively, but Sacchi is adamant the Nerazzurri will comfortably retain the crown next May.

“Roma did very well in the early stages of the match, but then injuries forced them to weather the storm,” Sacchi told Controcampo after the San Siro clash.

“The Giallorossi can do much better. They have an excellent squad and can and must do better.

“Inter had an understandable dip in form after their Champions League exertions. But they only need to fear themselves for the title.

“After all, while Roma were throwing in ‘little boys’ like [Stefano] Okaka, [Jose] Mourinho was sending in international and world-class champions…”

Inter pay visit to Bologna after the international break, while Roma host Bari and Juve and Milan face Udinese and Cagliari respectively at home.
