Bologna tactician Franco Colomba has praised his players following their 3-1 victory over Palermo on the weekend.

A brace by Marcelo Zalayeta and a goal by Marco Di Vaio secured all three points, and saw the Rossoblu climb out of the relegation zone.

"Despite our position on the table, I wanted to see the players put in a convincing performance," Colomba told Datasport at the conclusion of the match.

"We fought over the ball, like we should in every game. We were attentive for 85 minutes, and only a distraction almost cost us the game.

"In Serie A, certain errors can be severely punished, and the players know this full-well," the Bologna boss added.
