Inter dropped two crucial points at home to Roma earlier tonight, as they were forced to come from behind to draw 1-1 in a fairly lacklustre affair at the San Siro stadium.

Mirko Vucinic got things going for the visiting Roman outfit on 13 minutes, however Samuel Eto’o coolly slotted home the equaliser early in the second half, to ensure that his side attained a point from the clash.

The result leaves the Nerazzurri five points clear atop of the standings; however their captain Javier Zanetti feels that it should have been greater, as they could easily have won.

“I do not think that this is a fair result for us tonight,” Zanetti explained to the Inter Channel.

“After their goal, we picked up our game and tried to surprise our opponents with every opportunity we had. Maybe something went wrong for us, but this can happen when you’re searching for the lead.

“The important thing was that our intention was always to try and win the match, and I feel that we could have easily done so.”

The Argentine went on to discuss his club’s busy schedule of late, as well as the race for the Scudetto, at this early stage of the season.

He continued, “Fatigue? I do not think that was the problem for us, even though we are coming off a number of consecutive games.

“Again, we did all we could tonight, and we tried to win, but failed to do so. There are no excuses.

“Juventus and Milan? They were there before, and they will both be there until the very last day of the season.”
