We Are Being Penalised By Referees - Sampdoria Coach Del Neri
Sampdoria coach Luigi Del Neri continues to think that his side are being penalised by referees following today's defeat to Cagliari.
Despite making a great start to the season, Sampdoria coach Luigi Del Neri has been complaining for a while about refereeing mistakes that have penalised his side.
Today Samp lost 2-0 away to Cagliari, and once again the coach had plenty to object about the referee's performance.
"The problem is that we have played six away games and in three of those we were reduced to ten men," he said to Datasport. "We aren't a mean team and we never hurt anyone. We have to reflect on our mistakes, but it's a period in which we are clearly being penalised.
"Penalties against us are always given but not in our favour. It's not about seeing a narrow offside position, but clear, evident penalties, which should be seen and given."
On the team's objective, Del Neri said: "We aren't playing to win the league, that's up to other teams. We fight to have a good season, play good football and launch new young players."
The Blucerchiati are currently in fifth place with 21 points.
