Juventus Primavera striker Ciro Immobile made a rare substitute appearance last night in the Bianconeri’s 5-2 rout of Atalanta in Serie A .
The teenage hitman had only debuted in the Italian league last March and almost got his name on the scoresheet despite coming off the bench in the dying minutes.
“Yes, I was really fired up and I am happy because I did my job,” he enthused on the Juventus Channel.
“Of course, I also hoped to grab a goal. I went close with that header. And then after some good play, my shot was blocked by their defenders. But I am still happy because the team won.
“I have been in the squad for the past three games now. I was not overly excited and my legs were not shaking. I was more excited when I debuted against Bologna.”
Immobile replaced captain Alessandro Del Piero on March 14 2009 to make his first ever senior appearance in Serie A.
