After watching his side come under fire just seven days ago following their failure to secure maximum points against Serie A returnees Bari, Sampdoria coach Gigi Del Neri has once again called for calm as the Doriani prepare to travel to Cagliari.

“Some people turned their noses up after the recent stalemate with Bari. However, nobody commented on the fine athleticism of both sides,” he declared to Ansa.

“The only thing that matters tomorrow afternoon is that everyone stays calm...”

Sampdoria currently sit second in the standings, level on points with Ciro Ferrara’s Juventus.
