A month ago, a title challenge was looking like a distant dream for Milan fans. However, Leonardo has recently turned his side's fortunes around and the coach believes that it is possible to overturn Inter's seven point lead at the top of the table.

"The scudetto? For a club like Milan, it's impossible not to think about it. It's in our DNA," he is quoted as saying by Datasport.

"There has been talk of the championship being over because Inter are playing well and are showing their strength, but I think there's still a long way to go.

"Teams from second to fifth place are having good moments and the team that shows consistency will be able to get back into the race for the title."

The Rossoneri face a trip to struggling Lazio on Sunday, but the Brazilian coach believes that his side face a difficult task in taking away three points from the Stadio Olimpico.

"Lazio have incredible potential and players of great talent. It will be a really good game for them and also for us.

"In the last few games the team have always added something - the most difficult thing is to be consistent, but I see an enthusiasm that gives us so much optimism," he concluded.
