The Italian has been out for most of the campaign, featuring only for ten minutes as a substitute against Bologna. He has now recovered from an adductor injury and is set to return after the international break.
"I was no longer used to injuries. The last one was four years ago, but there's is a saying in Veneto, and you 'have to take something out from the injuries' - I think that's the right word," Del Piero told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
On Friday, Diego claimed he couldn't wait to play alongside 'Pinturicchio', and the feeling is mutual.
"I am coming back with more desire than ever," continued the No. 10.
The injury has allowed Del Piero to get more rest, meaning he could be fresher for the World Cup, which he has hinted at playing in.
"I will have rested much more by the end of the season," concluded Del Piero.
