We Must Not Underestimate Siena - Genoa Striker Rodrigo Palacio
Genoa striker Rodrigo Palacio talked about last night's Europa League match against Lille and this weekend's league encounter against bottom club Siena.
Last season he was heralded as a major transfer coup for Genoa, but former Boca Juniors striker Rodrigo Palacio had failed to leave his mark for the club until last night's Europa League match against Lille. In that encounter, he finally scored his first goal for the Grifoni, and it was quite a goal at that.
Speaking to Genoa's official website, the 27-year-old came back on last night's match.
"There was a wonderful crowd," he said. "If we didn't give up it's thanks to our fans, in the end we were rewarded. Now let's think about Sunday, when we face a very tricky match."
Genoa will host bottom club Siena, who have just replaced coach Marco Giampaolo with Marco Baroni.
"There are no games that are decided before they start," Palacio continued. "Siena are an opponent which deserves our respect and which can make life difficult for us. Their standings don't tell the truth.
"Obtaining three points would put us in a very good position before the break, and that's why we ask for the crowd's help again. We will suffer, but we want another victory, even at the last second," he concluded.
