Fiorentina Ace Adrian Mutu Out For Up To Three Weeks
The Viola have confirmed that the Romanian will return to action sooner than originally thought, though he still faces a fairly lengthy spell in the treatment room...
Reports suggested that the Romanian would be out of action for up to a month. The club have now released a statement on their official website, revealing that the operation was a success and that Mutu will be able to return sooner than expected.
"This afternoon, Adrian Mutu was submitted to Professor Paolo Aglietti's team for arthroscopic surgery on his knee," the memo read. "The inner meniscus, which was partially damaged, has been operated on without any further complications.
"His return to competitive action will be in around two to three weeks."
The news is a boost to coach Cesare Prandelli, as it was feared that Mutu would not return until Fiorentina's match with Atalanta on December 6.
Should all go to plan in the player's recovery, he could potentially feature in the Gigliati's crucial Champions League tie against Olympique Lyonnais on November 24.
